Mario Reyes
Mario Reyes is driven by a commitment to advocate for people who lack the resources or familiarity to navigate the legal system on their own. Raised in a working-class immigrant family, he saw early on how confusing and inaccessible the law can feel for ordinary people. That background, combined with his military and paramilitary experience, shapes his practical, disciplined approach to the law and fuels his belief that legal representation should be clear, accessible, and effective. As Mario puts it, “My background drives me to help people who feel the system isn’t built for them — because I know what that feels like.”
After moving to Indiana at a young age, Mario enlisted in the U.S. Army following high school and served as an M1A1 Abrams tanker. He deployed multiple times and served for years before injuries ultimately ended his military career, and later his high-threat protective security career with the U.S. Department of State. While his body wore down, his sense of purpose did not. He redirected that drive toward the law, choosing a profession where he could continue advocating for others.
Mario’s military service earned him numerous honors, including a Bronze Star, seven Army Commendation Medals, multiple Iraq Campaign Medals, and the Leadership Award from the Primary Leadership Development Course.
At Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Mario served as Vice President of the Second Chance Reentry Assistance Program (S.C.R.A.P.), participated in the Criminal Defense Clinic with the Marion County Public Defender Agency, was an Associate Member of the Indiana International Comparative Law Review (Vol. 35), competed in the Robert H. Staton Moot Court Competition and the Anderson Center Seventh Circuit Moot Court Competition, and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers.
Mario practices family and criminal law at BB&C, representing clients who often feel overwhelmed or unheard. He approaches each case with preparation and care, while drawing on the collective experience and mentorship within the firm to ensure clients benefit from multiple perspectives.
Outside the office, Mario enjoys traveling with his family and coaching martial arts, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and kickboxing.
